Forever 21 Lincoln Road

Forever 21Fast fashion giant Forever 21 has invested a small fortune to transform the landmark Saks Fifth Avenue department store on Lincoln Road Mall into a 39,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, trend-driven boutique. Launching this glittering flagship just weeks after H&M/ Hennes & Mauritz opened their first South Beach location on the mall makes Lincoln Road the go-to spot for budget-conscious fashionistas!

Forever 21 started out a simple Los Angeles storefront in 1984 and evolved into a massive, privately-held fashion phenomenon. Reinvesting profits from the original store into opening new locations nearly every six months, the shop entered into major shopping malls in 1989 with a 5,000 square foot location in Panorama City, California. The first shop outside California was actually opened here in Miami at the International Mall. By 1999, the brand was so successful, average top tier locations were nearly 9,000 square feet per store.

What makes Forever 21 so successful is their ability to recreate the latest runway looks in affordable materials and get them to consumers in a flash. “Fast Fashion” is all about having great looks first and knowing exactly when to move onto the next trend. The savvy creative team at the heart of this fashion success story is praised by consumers (and hated by top tier designers) for their lightening fast knock-offs.

Forever 21Incorporating mens, girls, plus sizes and accessories into the brand, Forever 21 stores at major malls topped out at over 24,000 square feet by 2001. Offering one-stop shopping in a fun and exciting atmosphere makes a trip to the mall a priority for teens, tweens and trendy adults. A 40,000 square foot department store sized shop opened in Downtown Pasadena in 2006 and the brand new Lincoln Road location is one of the largest at 39,000 square feet. The Miami Beach flagship incorporates the Art Deco elegance of the original Saks Fifth Avenue facade and then literally blows out the roof to include a massive sunny skylight.
